Bug Fixes & QoL Improvements (pending)

  • Fixed visual bug resulting from an unlit character shader
  • Added an alert that briefly plays when hidden pause menu buttons are unlocked
  • Changed the hidden pause menu buttons so that they immediately return the player to the game when clicked
  • Moved one secret button to unlock after all checkpoints are discovered, so it is more of a reward and will hopefully occur in the downtown area
  • Color coded the checkpoints to match the color of the blocks hiding the section of the map they are tied to
  • Added colorful smoke/ribbon effect that shoots into the sky at each checkpoint, activated after the player moves inside a certain proximity to the checkpoint, giving the player a direction to head in
  • Added "celebration" effect when player runs through a checkpoint
  • Removed first song; changed how many checkpoints are required to begin a song change; added a song fader so music does not play all the way through even after triggering a song change
  • Changed sky change timings to match new music changes
  • Changed starting screen to match game title
  • Tweaked checkpoint locations
Will post a new build with these changes after the jam voting period ends on 7/29
